HBA hosts annual housing forecast in December
The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland today announced it will host the annual Parr Lumber Housing Forecast Dec. 3 at the Oregon Convention Center.
The 7 a.m. breakfast meeting, sponsored by The Oregonian and NW Natural, features three notable market experts who will discuss what they see for Portland’s housing market and economy in 2009. Attendees typically include builders, real estate professionals, and all kinds of business leaders.
“Attendance at this event has grown steadily for the past several years,” said HBA Political Affairs Director Misty Slagle. “With all that is going on in the market right now, we expect this year’s forecast to sell out once again.”
The following featured speakers will offer their predictions and advice for the coming year:
John Mitchell has been making presentations on national and regional economic topics for more than 35 years. His professional credentials include chief economist at U.S. Bancorp, Western Region economist for U.S. Bank, business analyst for KPTV in Portland, and he has authored many economic publications.
Ken Perry is president and CEO of Broker Knowledge Group. Ken is well known for his extensive experience and knowledge of the home mortgage market locally and nationally, including the changes made to the home mortgage market from Congress.
Jerry Johnson is a real estate market and regional economic development consultant. He has consulted on a broad range of real estate development and land use economic topics for both public and private sector clients. As a principal with Jason Gardner, Jerry is involved in research, design, economic and financial modeling, and market analysis for the real estate community. Johnson’s experience includes real estate market forecasting and analysis for such clients as Weyerhauser, Altamont, Trammel Crow Residential, GSL Properties and Polygon NW.
