HBA’s Political Action Committee (PAC) is one of the most active and influential in the metro area, spending more than $100,000 each election cycle on regional, county and city political races. Being a top player in these races ensures our industry a seat at the table when issues that affect us are being discussed. Our local contributions are pooled with those of other home building associations across Oregon in the Oregon Home Builders Association’s political action fund, Oregonians for Affordable Housing.

All members who contribute to the PAC are invited to attend PAC Steering Committee meetings and participate in discussions on issues and candidates. Only PAC members vote on candidate and measure recommendations.

In addition to candidate and issue endorsements and support, the PAC holds various fundraising events and activities. Most prominent among these is the PAC House. The PAC House is built by an HBA builder using discounted materials and services from HBA Associate members, and the profits from the sale go directly towards the PAC’s endeavors.
