2020 GENERAL Election candidate & Measure Endorsements
The 2020 election cycle is in full swing. Ahead of the November general election, HBA interviewed an unprecedented 103 candidates running for office in sixteen jurisdictions across four counties. Because housing and land use are local issues, the elected leaders at the city, county, and Metro level will shape the conversation on housing regionally in the coming years.
HBA's Government Affairs Committee made endorsement decisions based on these interviews, and in some races, will contribute to the candidates through our political action committee, Oregonians for Affordable Housing (OFAH). Through OFAH, HBA is able to support pro-housing and business-friendly candidates. This support helps to strengthen relationships with our region's policy-makers, allowing us to work together to address critical industry issues.
