Home performance council
The Home Performance Council is comprised of members dedicated to educating and advocating for high-performance building. We facilitate, coordinate and develop educational programs. The Home Performance Council meets regularly to discuss educational outreach, advocacy efforts with the local jurisdictions and state agencies, and ideas for new builder incentive programs.
The Home Performance Council organizes the annual BuildRight Conference every spring in Portland. BuildRight is the one-stop source for building industry professionals to get the critical knowledge they need on cutting edge building technology, business development and new policies or codes that were recently adopted. In addition to two full days of educational opportunities, including receiving all required 16 accredited CEU credits, attendees are able to interact directly with the products and services best positioned to support their high performance building projects and marketing efforts.

Council membership is only $85 and can be easily added to your existing Home Building Association Membership. Open to all Home Building Association members.

- PROVIDE MEMBERS & INDUSTRY WITH HIGH-LEVEL EDUCATION: Be the leading program developers to coordinate and promote education for members and the contractor community. Increase the number of classes and opportunities available to earn continuing education credits.
- PROMOTE HIGH-PERFORMANCE BUILDING PRACTICES, SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY: Deliver educational programs that convert members to adopt better building practices. Enhance consumer recognition and promotion of sustainability & Energy efficiency in building to increase interest among builders and consumers in green, sustainability and energy efficiency.
- Building Science Program- promotes advanced energy efficiency building programs and better building science efforts on behalf of the HBA. This program provides a technical building science expert on staff for the HBA that will meet with builders on the jobsite to review and offer solutions for building challenges. The program also promotes better building practices by bringing the classroom to the field, simplifying how techniques are communicated and identifying pathways to promote continuous improvement plans to prepare builders for future codes.
